Not much is known about the artist C. Helsey, except that he illustrated the 1912 French spanking novel Les Humiliations de Miss Madge (The Humiliations of Miss Madge) by Aimé Van Rod. The novel was later republished under the same name in 1923 with illustrations by Georges Topfer.
