Spanking Implement of the Week: Saba's Bane aka The Aircraft Cable and Master Bob’s Best Flogger

While at the Folsom Street Fair in 2013, I purchased this rather unique implement that consisted of a bit of aircraft cable coated with plastic which was then formed into a loop and attached to a wooden handle.

Being mystified by all that was going on around me at the wonderful Folsom Street Fair, I unfortunately didn’t take note of where I purchased this implement and it took me years to sort out where it actually came from. I ended up naming it The Aircraft Cable or The Dreaded Aircraft Cable or No! Not That One!

Although I do really love this implement, I will say that it is fucking mean! I have yet to meet a person that actually likes having it used on them (except for me) and for that reason I really do only save it for the truly naughty spankees or for the more pain adventurous spankos.

This flogger is made with nine strands of tarred codline. The tar in the lashes are designed to make that cord a lot heavier than it normally would be.

In 2020, after testing a few implements on a friend of mine in the dressing room at Mr. S Leather, we wandered over to Wicked Grounds for some coffee. It was there that I found Master Bob’s Best Flogger. I instantly recognized it as being part of the same implement group as The Aircraft Cable because of the signature handle: “The handles are ‘antique’ thread spools. Although refinished they do have some little dings and ‘character’ marks.”

I did a bit of research in trying to locate whoever had made these implements and finally stumbled across Ms Domina on FetLife, which led me to her website, The Frugal Domme. And I most likely purchased The Aircraft Cable aka Saba’s Bane from The Frugal Domme Handcrafted Impact Toys booth at the Folsom Street Fair. I recently reached out to Ms Domina to inquire if her implements were still for sale, as the shopping catalog on her website seemed to be disconnected. Master Bob’s Best Flogger is still in stock, but Saba's Bane is currently not for sale. Also, shortly after purchasing the flogger, I made an appointment with Josephine Drake so that she could test it on me, as I needed to know what it felt like before using it on others! Bob’s Flogger has an incredibly sharp and snappy bite. Like The Aircraft Cable aka Saba's Bane, it does not mess around!

It is interesting to note that both are very quiet implements when used, but they usually create quite a vocal reaction from the spankee. I’ve always enjoyed these types of spanking toys. Deceptively quiet and yet intensely brutal, in the best sense of course. It reminds me of something Ms Domina has written on her FetLife profile: “Lets just say I'm white haired, blue eyed, and look like a nice, cuddly grandmother. And looks are deceiving. Very deceiving. I'm no one's grandmother…”
